Since good relationships are based on trust, be honest about how you feel. It’s better to know sooner than later if the collaboration is workable. Here are some questions to ask yourself:

  1. Is the problem the person, work, or the budget?
  2. Since most people don’t change, is there some way you can modify your behavior?
  3. Negotiate from a place of compromise. For example, I understand and respect your position but I feel differently. Let’s find a third way that can work for both of us.
