Can you manage two small businesses at once?

Personally, I love the prospect of managing more than one business but when I look at the effort it takes to succeed in running one business that's seeing a potential growth, I know for sure that it's going to be very challenging doing it with two fast growing businesses at once.

Have you managed two small businesses at once and how did you find it challenging to pull it off?
