Originally, Teespring was a business-to-business (B2B) company, making T-shirts in bulk for other businesses and groups. Unlike its competitors using digital printing, Teespring used screenprinting, which gave more vibrant colors. This made Teespring successful, and by 2015, it grew ten times and officially became a company, raising 61.91 million USD in venture capital.
In 2016, Teespring changed its website into a marketplace. Initially, they focused on attracting buyers, but they shifted to focus on sellers. The homepage encouraged visitors to create a shop rather than just buying products. Even those who came to buy ended up becoming sellers.
As more sellers joined, there was an influx of low-quality and sometimes offensive designs, leading to social media campaigns boycotting Teespring. This caused a decline, and they lost their market. Now, they have rebranded as Spring
