It's not going to be like dipping your hand into the money in your bank account already to finance a trip but actually saving for it over a specific period of time. I find doing this helps when it comes to needing money for a trip, it ensures that I have enough money to be able to splash out a little on the trip without worry of struggling for the rest of that month or week.
